On the morning of July 24th, the donation ceremony of Sunrise Group to the Zhejiang University Education Foundation was held at the university's Zijingang Campus. Huang Xianhai, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Zhejiang University, and Jin Lianqiang, CEO of Sunrise Group and a 2002 alumnus of the Chemical Engineering Technology program, attended and addressed the ceremony. Also present were Xu Xiaofeng, Secretary of the University Youth League Committee; Wu Feng, Party Secretary and Associate Dean of the College of Chemical and Biological Engineering; Wang Weihe, Deputy Director of the Student Affairs Office; Xu Ruijun, Deputy Secretary-General of the Education Foundation; and several Zhejiang University alumni currently employed at Sunrise Group. The ceremony was presided over by Liu Zhengrong, Director of the Development and Liaison Office, Secretary-General of the Alumni Association, and Secretary-General of the Education Foundation.  

In his address, Huang Xianhai expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the university for Sunrise Group's renewed generous donation. He noted that as a comprehensive chemical enterprise integrating production, R&D, and international trade, Sunrise Group has not only achieved remarkable business success over the past two decades but has also actively fulfilled its social responsibilities. Last year, the group supported the College of Chemical Engineering's graduation concert, the university Youth League Committee's "Sunrise"-themed event series, and established the "Zhejiang University Sunrise Scholarship." This year, Sunrise Group has once again launched the "Sunrise Youth Development Program" to empower student growth, recognizing outstanding students and counselors while supporting initiatives in aesthetic education, sports, and innovation practices. These efforts reflect the group's deep commitment to nurturing talent and advancing education. Huang briefly highlighted Zhejiang University's and the Education Foundation's recent achievements and developments. He looked forward to further collaboration with Sunrise Group, ensuring that more Zhejiang University students can thrive under this warmth and sunshine, ultimately cultivating globally competitive innovators and leaders of tomorrow.

As an alumnus of Zhejiang University, Jin Lianqiang expressed a profound sense of familiarity and fulfillment upon returning to his alma mater, describing his campus days as "the most treasured memories of my life." He reflected on last year's inaugural fund initiative—supported by Chairman Sun Yang—which yielded remarkable outcomes, deeply moving him with its tangible results: the photography competition anthology, "Most Beautiful Notes" collection, and inspiring stories of scholarship recipients. He also commended the university's professional execution of the scholarship program. Driven by this emotional connection and trust, Jin announced the decision to expand this year's donation with new initiatives. Beyond personal commitment, he hopes to inspire broader societal support for Zhejiang University, fostering globally minded talents and contributing to national education advancement. He concluded by expressing his desire to establish a long-term, stable partnership with the university to sustain student development support.

On site, Huang Xianhai, representing the Zhejiang University Education Foundation, signed the donation agreement with Jin Lianqiang, General Manager of Sunrise Group. He then presented the donation certificate and commemorative plaque to Sunrise Group.

The heads of the project implementation units delivered speeches in turn. Xu Xiaofeng stated that the "Youth League Committee Rich Series Activities Fund Project," established through donations from the Sunrise Group, has supported the university in carrying out a series of campus artistic and aesthetic education activities, fostering a campus culture of self-discipline, diligence, appreciation of beauty, and sharing. This renewed generous donation not only serves as full affirmation of the previous work of the Youth League Committee but also reflects deep expectations for the all-round development of Zhejiang University students. The university Youth League Committee will undoubtedly redouble its efforts and sense of responsibility to ensure these funds are transformed into nourishment for the growth of young people.

Wu Feng warmly reflected on the tremendous support Sunrise Group has provided to the School of Chemical Engineering over the past year. He noted that the establishment of the "Sunrise Youth Development Program" is a visionary move that further demonstrates the group's commitment to advancing education, which has deeply inspired both faculty and students. The school will meticulously plan and utilize the funds in a standardized manner to ensure optimal resource allocation, empowering student development. Moreover, this initiative is seen as an opportunity to further explore collaborative innovation in scientific research and joint talent cultivation, contributing to the nurturing of outstanding chemical engineering professionals and the advancement of China's chemical industry.

Wang Weihe expressed heartfelt gratitude to Sunrise Group for its profound commitment to supporting talent cultivation and student development at the university. He remarked that by focusing on the counseling staff and establishing the "Sunrise Faculty Incentive Award, the group has provided tremendous encouragement and support to the counselor team. The Student Affairs Office will strategically plan and diligently implement the award program, transforming it into a driving force for enhancing educational quality. This initiative will effectively raise the group's visibility and influence among both students and counselors.  

Returning to Zhejiang University after a year, I’m filled with a deep sense of belonging," said Sun Yuan, Deputy Manager of the Project Technology Department, Executive Assistant to the General Manager of Sunrise Group, and a 2022 alumnus of the Agricultural Engineering program, as he addressed the gathering as an alumni representative. Reflecting on the motivation behind the company’s renewed donation, he remarked, "We have always had unwavering faith in Zhejiang University—our only concern was whether our support for our alma mater could be impactful enough." He fondly recalled his academic and campus life, expressing immense pride in seeing the university’s steady rise in global academic rankings. "Through this donation, we hope to further bolster the university’s initiatives in aesthetic education, sports, and innovative practical activities, creating a better environment for current students to thrive," he said. He also expressed his eagerness to welcome more outstanding Zhejiang University talents to join Sunrise Group, fostering mutual growth and collaboration between the two.

At the ceremony, alumni representatives including Lu Weijie delivered speeches, engaging in in-depth discussions on four key themes: their enduring bonds with the alma mater, the alignment between academic and corporate values, the shared mission of talent development, and future industry trends and prospects. They collectively pledged to advance excellence in both talent cultivation and educational innovation.

ZJUEF Sunrise Youth Program

To support the development of education at Zhejiang University, Sunrise Group has made an additional donation to the Zhejiang University Education Foundation on top of its previous contributions, establishing the "ZJU Education Foundation Sunrise Youth Development Program."
